Our experienced and qualified technicians are able to assist in servicing and maintaining your hydraulic, electromagnetic, servo (also known as vacuum), and mechanical braking systems.

Brake System Services:

Brakes

Whether your vehicle runs a disc brake systems or a drum brake system, it is comprised of a friction transferring material that wears with use. Wear of this material is completely normal, though it is important to have it inspected regular as unusual wear can indicate additional problems.

Rotors

Brake rotors / discs, whatever you call them they perform the same function - transferring the friction cause by your pads to stop your wheel from turning. While brake pads need to be replaced regularly, brake rotors typically last longer before replacement is required.

Handbrake

It doesn’t matter whether your vehicle runs an electric/push button handbrake, a foot pedal handbrake or a stick/lever handbrake - if you have noticed that it is not holding, we have all your handbrake adjustment or replacement needs covered.

Brake Fluid

A very important component in ensuring you are able to stop when you want to. Your Brake fluid allows for a hydraulic pressure to be transferred from you applying pressure to the brake pedal and your vehicle transferring this pressure and applying it to your brakes.

Common Questions

  • Brake replacement is more than just the replacement of the brake pads themselves. It includes the replacement of the brake pads, cleaning and lubrication of the callipers and slides, machining or replacement of the brake pad rotors.

Prices and requirements are vehicle dependent, the average brake system servicing costs range between $80 and $450.

  • Some common signs customers notice are:

    • High-pitched screeching noises when braking

    • Vibration/shudder when applying the brakes

    • Visible wear and tear of the pads or rotors

    • Reduced stopping response

    • Loud grinding sounds from your brake pads

    • Changes to your brake fluid

    • Vehicle pulling to one side when braking

  • Brake pads are usually replaced every 45,000 – 85,000km, depending on the location of the pad, the composition of the pad used, and the type of driving you have been doing.

Brake rotors on some vehicles require replacement at the same time as the brake pads. Other vehicles run brake rotors that are comprised of a material that allows for the rotors to be machined extending the replacement window.
